Position Description

  • Collects, prepares, and ships lab samples like blood and urine according to study guidelines.
  • Helps patients complete study-related diaries, logs, and questionnaires.
  • Provides standard nursing care during dialysis treatments in a research setting.
  • Monitors patient safety and ensures they follow the study’s lifestyle and treatment rules.
  • Starts and maintains IV access for patients in dialysis-related studies.
  • Administers study medications during dialysis as directed by the research protocol.
  • Monitors for and reports any side effects or adverse events to the study team and medical staff.
  • Performs study procedures such as vital signs, ECGs, blood draws, and other basic health checks.
  • Keeps accurate records of patient care, study procedures, and dialysis treatments.
  • Ensures lab results are reviewed by the doctor and flags any unusual findings.
  • Manages and monitors study medications and other allowed substances like tobacco.
  • Maintains and organizes dialysis supplies, emergency equipment, and medications.
  • Follows safety procedures and emergency plans during dialysis sessions.
  • Attends study training sessions and stays up to date on certifications and protocols.
  • Understands and follows company and research regulations, especially those related to dialysis.
  • Documents patient history, medications, and lifestyle details as needed for the study.
  • Supports patient compliance with study diets, restrictions, and schedules.
  • Helps prepare and organize supplies for dialysis research visits.
  • Carefully observes patients during dialysis to ensure safety and adherence to the protocol.
  • May need to travel occasionally for meetings or training.
