PACU Registered Nurse in Jefferson City, MO New

A Registered Nurse with specialized skills in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing is sought for a contract assignment in Jefferson City, MO. Responsibilities include managing post-anesthesia recovery for a diverse patient population spanning from infants to geriatrics, ensuring vigilant monitoring and timely intervention in a trauma level 3 environment. The nurse will work closely with anesthesiology providers on standby and oversee patient care in a 20-bay PACU unit. Key duties encompass IV insertion and management of complex vascular devices such as PICC lines and arterial lines, performing cardiac procedures including 12-lead EKG acquisition and telemetry interpretation, and delivering advanced airway management including procedural sedation and tracheostomy care. Additional responsibilities involve handling epidural/PCA pumps, administering chemotherapy, and managing wound vac therapy.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

• RN licensure with PACU nursing expertise
• Proficient in line management: IV insertion, PICC/central line care, dialysis fistula management, arterial line management
• Cardiac skills: 12 lead EKG, telemetry interpretation, sheath removal, cardioversion/defibrillation; epicardial pacer management preferred
• Airway management: procedural sedation, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care
• Experience with epidural/PCA pumps, chemotherapy administration, wound vac therapy
• Able to maintain nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 in a fast-paced, trauma level 3 unit

• No call, no weekends
• 36-48 hours per week with flexibility to downstaff within a 13-week contract
